Day 1 — Georgetown to Lethem & Central Rupununi

Early-morning check-in at Ogle: Make your own way to Eugene F. Correia International Airport (Ogle) for the regional flight to Lethem. Departure times are subject to airline changes.

Fly to Lethem: Board the regional flight to Lethem. The supplied itinerary allows approximately 1 hour 10 minutes for the outbound flight.

Arrival, breakfast & tour briefing: On arrival, meet your driver and transfer to your Lethem accommodation for breakfast. Your guide will brief the group before the day’s activities.

Moco Moco Falls: Travel toward Moco Moco Village, approximately 22 km from Lethem. Walk the famous 999-step concrete staircase, created as part of a historic hydroelectric project, and continue through rainforest scenery toward the falls. Enjoy the views, snacks and time to relax.

St. Ignatius Village: Visit one of the Central Rupununi’s Indigenous communities and learn about Macushi traditions, agriculture, ranching and local craftsmanship. See how cassava is used in everyday life, visit the traditional benab and view locally made crafts when available.

Lethem town & Takutu Bridge: Take a drive through Lethem, the Rupununi’s border town on the Takutu River. See local landmarks and continue toward the Takutu Bridge for a photo opportunity.
